ERC Starting Grant funding for project GLP1RES awarded to Elisa

The European Research Council has awarded an ERC Starting Grant to Elisa for the project GLP1RES - Hormone-Induced Resistance to GLP-1 Receptor Agonists in Diabetes: Unraveling the Molecular Complexities. We will be exploring how amidated hormones contribute to the action of GLP-1 receptor agonists, an anti-diabetic drug class. Exciting times ahead! Keep an eye out for new openings!

Elisa presents at the regional meeting of the Italian Society for Atherosclerosis (SISA)

On Saturday June 8th in Arezzo, Elisa gave a talk on the contribution of desmosterol and lanosterol in atherosclerosis at the Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany regional meeting of the Italian Society for Atherosclerosis. She has also introduced the exciting line of research that the Systems Medicine Laboratory is pursuing on the biology of Cholesterol Biosynthesis Intermediates. Thank you SISA for the invitation!

The SysMed Lab goes to the Human Technopole Pop&Med Genomics Center Retreat

The SysMed Lab joined the Human Technopole Pop&Med Genomics Center at their annual Retreat in Mantello (SO), in beautiful Valtellina. We spent 3 days filled with interesting science, brilliant colleagues and plenty of fun. Giorgia, Paola, Laura and Miriana presented a poster, which was well received, while Elisa and Ivan presented the activities of the SysMed Lab during a plenary session.
